FAQs

Each case varies from patient to dentist, although the most recommendable would be twice a year.

Most cavities begin small and are rarely dangerous. Some symptoms of cavities can include sensitivity, pain, and marks or holes in the tooth. It is always recommended to see a dentist if you have suspicions of cavities.

The most common agreeance amongst dentists is brushing after every meal. However, it is also debated that brushing should only occur once in the morning and once in the evening before bedtime. It is best to have a conversation with your doctor and have them give you a professional opinion based on the condition of your teeth and eating habits.

While brushing is immensely important, flossing gets into the hard to reach places between the teeth. Microscopic bacteria and bits of leftover food can get lodged between teeth and cause tooth decay. Flossing reduces plaque and gum disease as well. When you combine brushing and flossing, you can ensure you are taking the best care of your teeth.

If you have any requests about having dental work done, you can always visit your dentist. They may refer you to a different specialist depending on what type of dental work you would like to have done. It is always a good rule of thumb to get an estimate of the type of surgery first in case the procedure is not fully covered by insurance.
